A comforting casserole featuring juicy patties made from ground beef, bound with eggs and breadcrumbs, and topped with a creamy mushroom sauce.

Ingredients

  • Ground Beef: 2 pounds
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Milk: 1/2 cup
  • Breadcrumbs: 1 cup
  • Onion: 1 small, finely chopped
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup: 2 cans (10.5 oz each)
  • Milk for Sauce: 1/2 cup
  • Parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, onion, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  4. Form the meat mixture into patties, about 1-inch thick, and place them in the prepared dish in a single layer.
  5. Combine the cream of mushroom soup with an additional 1/2 cup of milk until smooth, then pour over the patties.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top before serving.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving hot.

Notes

Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or fluffy rice and a green vegetable like steamed broccoli.
