- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, mixing until just incorporated.
- Fold in the dried cranberries, orange zest, and optional nuts.
- Drop rounded portions of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden and centers remain soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For added festive touch, dust with powdered sugar before serving. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or freeze for longer storage.
