  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  4. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until evenly blended.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and gently stir.
  6. Add the flour, mixing just until it disappears; do not overmix.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for the best flavor. Don’t overmix to keep the bread tender. Feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
