Ingredients
3–4 cups Kale (stems removed)
2–3 cloves Garlic (minced or roughly chopped)
2 tbsp Unsalted butter
2 tbsp Water
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper
Instructions
1. Remove kale leaves from the stems and tear them into bite-size pieces. Mince or roughly chop the garlic.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the garlic. Cook until fragrant and slightly browned (do not burn).
3. Add the kale pieces. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.
4. Add the water, salt, and pepper. Cover with a lid and let braise for 2-3 minutes.
5. Remove the lid and toss the kale with tongs. Adjust seasoning to taste and check for desired tenderness. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use curly or lacinato kale depending on your preference—both work well.
Add a splash of lemon juice or a pinch of red pepper flakes for a fresh or spicy twist.
This dish pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roasted chicken, or a grain bowl.
If your kale is extra tough, braise a minute longer with an extra splash of water.
