Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Heat a few tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté them until they soften, around 5-7 minutes.
- Toss in the ground beef, seasoning it generously with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- While the meat cooks, preheat your oven’s broiler to high.
- Slice the hoagie rolls open, laying them out on a baking sheet.
- Generously scoop the beef and veggie mixture into each hoagie roll.
- Top each sandwich with slices of provolone cheese.
- Place the sandwiches under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye on them until the cheese melts and begins to bubble.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For added flavor, consider mixing in chopped jalapeños or sprinkling garlic powder while cooking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
