A comforting Korean ground beef bowl with bold flavors from soy sauce, garlic, and brown sugar, served over rice.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Cooked rice for serving
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through, breaking it into small pieces for even browning.
  2. Drain excess fat from the skillet, leaving just a little for flavor.
  3. Add garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir to combine thoroughly.
  4. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and mixture to thicken slightly.
  5. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes

For a lighter option, ground turkey or chicken can be used instead of beef. This dish is great for meal prep and can last 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
