- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a shallow dish, mix together the bread crumbs, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, beat together the eggs and milk until well combined.
- Place the flour in a third shallow dish.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip it into the egg mixture, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Add the breaded chicken breasts in batches, cooking for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the remaining Parmesan, shredded mozzarella, and minced garlic, then top each chicken breast with this cheesy mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbling and slightly golden.
Notes
For best flavor, use freshly grated cheeses and consider adding fresh herbs.
