A quintessential meatloaf with a perfect blend of flavors and a delightful sweet and tangy glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for glazing)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, 1/4 cup of ketchup, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, avoiding over-mixing.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, blend the brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce, then spread the glaze over the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Let the meatloaf sit for 10 minutes after baking for easy slicing. Customize glaze as desired.
