A fun and spooky Halloween Mini Mummy Pizzas recipe that kids will love making and eating—perfect as an appetizer or party snack.

  • Total Time: 17 minutes
  • Yield: 4 mini pizzas 1x

Ingredients

Scale

4 English muffins

olive oil

garlic powder, for sprinkling

1/2 cup pizza sauce

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

23 sticks of mozzarella string cheese

grated parmesan, for topping

smoked paprika, for sprinkling

fresh basil, chopped or leaves

cherry tomatoes

other toppings: diced bell peppers, red onion, diced ham, sliced black olives

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.

2. Brush the English muffins with olive oil on the cut side and place them on a baking sheet.

3. Sprinkle each with a pinch of garlic powder and salt.

4. Bake cut side up for 6-7 minutes until the crust is golden brown.

5. While the English muffins bake, prepare the toppings.

6. Thinly slice the cherry tomatoes and sprinkle each with a pinch of salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Chop the basil.

7. Prepare any other toppings. Finely dice the bell peppers, red onion, and ham (if not already diced).

8. Create thin strips of mozzarella by doing repeated cheese pulls off the string cheese, or by cutting strips of mozzarella sticks into thin ribbons.

9. Remove the tray from the oven.

10. Carefully spread about 1 1/2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on top of each English muffin half.

11. Layer 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top of the sauce.

12. Add the chopped basil or basil leaves. Add the seasoned cherry tomatoes and a sprinkle of salt.

13. Distribute diced peppers, onions, and ham evenly over the mini pizzas.

14. Criss-cross the mozzarella cheese into thin mummy bandages. Make the eyes with two black olive slices to complete the mummy look.

15. Pop in the oven for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted.

16. Eat immediately for optimal taste. Leftovers can be refrigerated for 1 to 2 days and reheated in the oven.

Notes

Get the kids involved by letting them arrange toppings and create their own mummy designs.

To make these vegetarian, skip the ham and load up on veggies.

For extra crispiness, toast the muffins a few minutes longer before adding toppings.
