- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, heavy cream, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil.
- Allow to boil for about 4-5 minutes without stirring until it reaches the soft ball stage, about 234°F.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips and vanilla extract until smooth and glossy.
- Gently fold in chopped nuts if using.
- Pour the fudge into a greased 8×8 inch square pan and let it cool at room temperature until it sets.
- Once set, cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Consider toasting nuts for added flavor and texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate for longer storage.
