These Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes combine the rich flavors of beef, sautéed onions, and peppers, all topped with gooey provolone cheese for a comforting meal.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons A-1 sauce
  • 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
  • 4 toasted buns
  • 4 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart until it’s no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the diced onion and green pepper to the skillet and sauté for about 3-5 minutes until soft.
  3. Stir in the beef broth, A-1 sauce, and steak seasoning, and allow the mixture to simmer for approximately 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Spoon the beef mixture onto toasted buns and top each with a slice of provolone cheese, allowing it to melt slightly.

Notes

For a spicier variant, substitute provolone with pepper jack cheese or add sliced jalapeños. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days or frozen for up to three months.
