Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons A-1 sauce
- 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
- 4 toasted buns
- 4 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart until it’s no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the diced onion and green pepper to the skillet and sauté for about 3-5 minutes until soft.
- Stir in the beef broth, A-1 sauce, and steak seasoning, and allow the mixture to simmer for approximately 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Spoon the beef mixture onto toasted buns and top each with a slice of provolone cheese, allowing it to melt slightly.
Notes
For a spicier variant, substitute provolone with pepper jack cheese or add sliced jalapeños. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days or frozen for up to three months.
