Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 4 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 cup Sloppy Joe sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Shredded cheese (optional, for topping)
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
- Add the diced onions and bell peppers, sautéing them gently until they soften and become fragrant.
- Crank up that flavor by adding in the ground beef or turkey, cooking until the meat is browned and its texture is crumbly.
- Stir in the diced potatoes, covering the skillet to allow them to cook through for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until they’re tender.
- Pour in the Sloppy Joe sauce, mixing it thoroughly with the ingredients until everything is well-coated.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, heating everything through until it’s fabulously warm.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Optional: Top with shredded cheese, allowing it to melt into a gooey layer of goodness before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, consider adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce or a sprinkle of smoked paprika. Customize with different vegetables or a spicy kick if desired.
