A comforting Southern-style green bean casserole that blends tender green beans with creamy mushroom soup and crispy fried onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14.5 oz) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir until well blended.
  3. Gently fold in half of the crispy fried onions.
  4. Pour the mixture into a baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, until it starts to bubble.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining crispy fried onions on top.
  7. Return to the oven for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, until the onions are golden and crispy.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a brighter flavor, use fresh green beans and blanch them briefly before baking. Customize with sautéed mushrooms, bacon, or different toppings.
