Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz noodles (e.g., egg noodles or rice noodles)
- 1 lb beef (sliced into thin strips)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ginger (minced)
- 1 bell pepper (sliced)
- 2 green onions (chopped)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside, just until they’re al dente.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the sliced beef in a single layer, letting it sear undisturbed for a few moments until browned, then flip and cook until just cooked through.
- Toss in the minced garlic and ginger, stirring them into the beef and cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring until the mixture thickens and turns glossy, coating the beef beautifully.
- Incorporate the cooked noodles and sliced bell pepper, mixing everything together to ensure even coverage of that luscious sauce.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, swap beef for chicken or tofu. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for a month.
