Deliciously thick chocolate chip cookies with a rich, chocolatey flavor and a chewy center.

Ingredients

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups chocolate chips (semisweet and dark mix)
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • Optional: Extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring until each is thoroughly incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding until just combined.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Using a large cookie scoop, portion the dough into large balls and space them out on the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and centers are slightly underbaked.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For a different flavor profile, consider adding nuts or substituting chocolate types. Keep cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
