Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices sourdough or white bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it up as it browns until it sizzles and gives off a savory aroma.
- Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion turns translucent.
- Season with salt and pepper, then stir in the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Simmer until the liquid reduces and thickens slightly.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread generously. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place two slices of bread, butter side down, onto the skillet. Layer with half of the cheddar, the beef mixture, and the remaining mozzarella. Finish with the other slices of bread, butter side up.
- Grill each side for about 3–4 minutes, flipping carefully, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm, optionally garnished with fresh parsley.
